Saturday, March 10 Event at the Uhuru House to launch the Oakland Freedom Summer Project
Hear Chairman Omali Yeshitela, founder and leader of the Uhuru Movement, this Saturday from 5pm-8pm. The event kicks off the Oakland Freedom Summer Project in which activists, students and community members will renovate the historic Uhuru House black community center in July, installing a sustainable community garden and Uhuru Jiko (community kitchen). Brian has been a staff member and volunteer for over seven years. He has deep appreciation for the APEDF mission and a hunger for positive transformation for the African community. Brian works on the marketing team and goes the extra mile to develop and nurture relationships with donors. He volunteers to fill in gaps wherever needed in the furniture store operations. His stance is respected by staff, volunteers and the surrounding community.
