The African People's Education and Defense Fund's "Health is Freedom" health fair was a beautiful day of Friends, Family and Freedom! We want to take a moment and thank all of you!
Thank you to health providers: Alameda County Family Justice Center, Inner Juice Glow, Wanda Stewart from Obsidian Farm, Alameda Mental Health Department, Family Education and Resource Center, Berkeley Free Clinic, East Bay Integrative Pregnancy Project, AIDS Project of the East Bay, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, American Lung Association. Thank you to all the vendors and performers: African Decadence (Mikkhiel Akbar), Back 2 Nature Skincare and Wellness Spa (Terri Robinson), All Power Promotions and Creations (Sealli Moyenda), Black Star Industries and Uhuru Foods and Pies putting the means to grow, produce and distribute fresh food into the hands of African people. Thank you to Tureeda Mikell, the Raymond Vega Band, KulturaL Magick and the Berkeley Flea Market Drummers! Thank you to all the volunteers: Rock Williams, Sara Castro, Avihai Guzy, Marilyn Waters, Miguel Valencia, Bernadeta Czok, Hang Moore, Becky Liang, Cara Locke, Linnett Peal, Todd Hudson, Tasha Jewett, Wendy Snyder and American Indian High School Key Club. This is only the beginning! APEDF is working to launch ongoing health programming at Akwaaba Hall for our community.
